“One of you will betray me,” He says.

And Judas went out as he had planned and purposed to do.

“Peter, you will deny me,” He says.

“Even if all fall away, I will not,” Peter replies.

But Jesus tells him, “Tonight, before the rooster crows twice, you will disown me three times.”

And they all go on.

To the garden.

To the arrest.

To the trial.

To failure.

Judas betrays Jesus—on purpose.

Peter denies Jesus—by accident.

And Jesus knew both were coming.

He knew Judas had made up his mind.

He knew Peter’s courage would collapse.

He named them both at the table.

And He made space for them both in the story.

Judas’s betrayal wasn’t a surprise. Jesus said it plainly: “The Son of Man will go just as it is written about Him.”

Even Judas’s darkness had been folded into the plan of redemption.

Peter’s denial wasn’t a dealbreaker. Jesus said it plainly: “When you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

Even Peter’s weakness was already part of God’s restoration.

Two kinds of failure.

One heart of grace.

Jesus made room for both.

He had already made peace with the pain.

He had already prepared to meet both betrayal and denial—not with shame, but with sovereign love.

And if Jesus made room for them…

He’s already made room for you.

So yes—life is full of decisions.

Should I let go? Should I stay?

Am I tending what I should? Am I missing something important?

But even when you choose wrong—on purpose or by accident—Jesus is still your Savior.

And His grace is big enough for your missteps, your betrayals, your regrets, your blind spots.

You are not holding this story together.

He is.

And He already knows how to weave it into resurrection.

Mindfulness Moment:

Take a deep breath.

Bring to mind something you’re afraid of failing in—

a decision, a relationship, a moment where you’re unsure or afraid to get it wrong.

Hold it gently.

Now whisper to yourself:

“Jesus has already made room for this.”

He sees you.

He knows your heart.

And He’s already writing resurrection on the other side of it.

Let His grace hold what you can’t.
